Assosa, July 10, 2007 (WIC) -
Activities are well underway to light up some six Woreda towns in the
Benshangul Gumz State, according to Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo).
Corporation Assosa District Manager, Dessie Sema, told WIC that the
Corporation has been expediting activities to make the towns beneficiaries
of hydro electric power services in the new year.
The towns include Tonbo, Banbasi, Homosha, Sherkole, Menge and Kumruk,
according to the manger.
The construction of the power distribution facility has already been
finalized, Dessie indicated.
As the installation of the electric power lines is expected to get finalized
by next August, the towns would become beneficiaries of the hydro electric
power services after two months, it was pointed out.News
