INVITATION TO BID

The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation, (EEPCO) (hereinafter referred to as the corporation) issues this notice of Invitation to Bid for the construction of Finchaa -Amerti - Neshe Multipurpose Project Resettlement Dwelling Houses and Related Infrastructures.

1.The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation has allocated fund from its own source to be used for the procurement of construction of Finchaa - Amerti - Neshe Multipurpose Project Resettlement Dwelling Houses and Related Infrastructures.

2.he Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the provision of the Construction of Finchaa - Amerti - Neshe Multipurpose Project Resettlement Dwelling Houses within 150 days and the Related Infrastructures (primary school, Clinics, Development Agent’s houses, Churches, Flourmills etc) within 180 calendar days from commencement of works.

3. Eligible contractors are invited for the following Contract packages. Interested bidders can bid for more than one Lot (Village) whereas independent offer shall be made for each Lot/ village. However a maximum of two villages (lots) will be awarded for a single bidder.

4. Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the open national tendering procedures contained in the Public Procurement Proclamation of the Federal Government of Ethiopia and is open to all bidders from Ethiopia, Category GC-5 or BC-5 with license valid for the year 2000 EC.

5. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from The Office of Finchaa - Amerti - Neshe Multipurpose Project 8(a) and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below at 8(b) from 8:00-12:00A.M & 1:00-5:00P.M

6. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested bidders at the address below at 8(b) upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Ethiopian Birr 250.00 (Two hundred fifty  Birr) and submission of Registration Certificate for GC-5 or BC-5, renewed Business license for 2000 EC, VAT registration, Tax payer registration and Tax clearance certificates. The method of payment will be in cash. The document will be made available at the stated address starting September 01/2008 on or after 8:00AM (Morning).

7. All Bids must be accompanied by a bid security of Ethiopian Birr 1% of the bid amount for each lot (village). The bid security shall be in the form of Cash Deposit, Unconditional Bank Guarantee or a certified payment order (CPO) which is payable on first demand to the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation. The bid bond shall be valid for 120 Calendar Days. Bids must be s delivered at EEPCO’s head office Procurement division, Ground floor on or before 12:00Pm local time (noon) October 13, 2008 i.e. Bid Opening Date. Late bids will be rejected.

The Corporation reserves the rights to post qualify the bidder offering the lowest evaluated tender. 

 The Corporation reserves the right to reject any or all of the offers.
