ADVANCE PROCUREMENT

ADVANCE PROCUREMENT/ RENTAL NOTICE TO ALL PROSPECTIVE DIESEL GENERATOR SUPPLIERS OR COMPANIES

Dear Madam/Sir:
1 The Ethiopian electric Power Corporation is planning to either finance from its own sources or consider receiving long term financing from suppliers for emergency diesel generator erection project.

2 The project aims in supporting its existing electric grid system by erecting 80 to 100 MW diesel generating sets the soonest time possible for an operation period of 6 to 12 months after considering and evaluating different options (i.e. either renting diesel generators or by direct purchase of the generating sets the financing of which could be considered by the client or by receiving long term financing options from the suppliers).

3 The intent of this announcement is to get sufficient information of the capabilities of suppliers and /or manufacturers with respect to the above different options and to finally come in to a concrete conclusion of the project.

4 EEPCO now invites eligible suppliers and/or manufacturers to submit their Advanced Procurement/ Rental Proposals indicating their company profiles, their shortest delivery period at site, the Containerized unit generator capacity to be supplied, recommended mode of operation (Isolated mode of operation or interconnected mode of operation) ,shortest Erection period and indicative cost proposals for the following options:

- Option 1 – renting diesel generators for the above mentioned operation period by considering clients financing option and possibility of providing long term financing to the client by the supplier.
- Option 2 – by considering direct purchase of the generators with the above two mode of financing.

5 The prospective suppliers are invited to submit their advanced Procurement/ Rental proposals within 15 calendar days from the date of announcement made on the Ethiopian Herald.

6 EEPCO may consider to shortlist the prospective suppliers who have submitted their advanced Procurement/Rental proposals.

7 The advanced Procurement/ Rental proposal shall be sent to the following address:
