INVITATION TO BID

The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation, (EEPCO) (hereinafter referred to as the Corporation) issues this notice of invitation to bid:

- For Design , manufacture, test , supply and delivery to the warehouse in Metu including sea and inland transportation, port clearances and insurance from warehouse to warehouse of substation equipment for the following transmission line

METU-GAMBELLA TRANSMISSION LINE

About 138.1kM of a single circuit 230kV ( on double circuit towers), 3-phase, twin AAAC” ASH” conductor, single optical fiber cable shield wire on self supporting, tapered configuration, vertical formation galvanized steel lattice towers with each leg having a separate footings of pad and chimney concrete type from Metu substation to Gambela substation having the following details:-

• Line structures including footings,
• Line structure earthing
• Conductors, insulators and fittings,
• Optical fiber core shield wires and fittings
• Factory test on the above
• Supply and delivery of the above

- Only bidders, who have designed, manufactured and supplied transmission line materials and towers at 230kV voltage level or above will be considered qualified.

- The project finance shall be made available by the bidder as a grant or soft loan (commercial credit) from   its respective governments and/or financing institutions.

- The bid document in soft copy(CD) can be collected against a non-refundable payment of Ethiopian Birr 1,000.00(One Thousand Ethiopian Birr)

- Bid documents will be available starting from September 12, 2008 at or after 8:00 hours local time (8:00 A.M).

- Site visit will be carried on starting from 13, October 2008 and pre-bid meeting will be held    on 20th, October 2008.

- Offers must be delivered to the address given above by November 11, 2008 at or before 12:00 hours local time. Late bids will be rejected.

- Offers will be opened in the presence of bidders/ representatives who choose to attend on November 11, 2008 at 15:00 hours local time (3:00P.M) at the EEPCO Club Mexico Square. Addis Ababa.
