The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation, (EEPCO) (hereinafter referred to as the Corporation) issues this notice of invitation to bid: 

- For Design , manufacture, test , supply and delivery to the warehouse in Metu including sea and inland transportation, port clearances and insurance from warehouse to warehouse of substation equipment for the following substations:-

- Metu substation Extension includes:

• 230kv single bus bar Extension
• One 230kV, 15Mvar Bus Bar shunt reactor

-  Gambella Substation

• Complete 230/66/33 Gambella Substation which includes:
• 230kV Single bus bar with in future to be double bus bar,
• One 230kV incoming line bay from Metu Substation,
• One 230kV, 15Mvar Line shunt reactor
• One 230/66/33kV, 40/20/20MVA Power Transformer
• One 66kV Outgoing line to the existing 66/15kV Substation
• Two 33kV, 5Mvar line shunt reactor
• Testing and commissioning of RTU, communication system, end to end test with LDC, configuration and updating of the database at LDC for all substations included under this contract.

-  The project finance shall be made available by the bidder as a grant or soft loan (commercial credit) from   its respective governments and/or financing institutions.

-    Only bidders who have designed, manufactured and supplied substations at 230kV voltage level or above will be considered qualified.

- The bid document in soft copy (CD)can be collected against a non-refundable payment of Ethiopian Birr 1,000.00 (One Thousand Ethiopian Birr)

- Bid documents will be available starting from September 12, 2008 at or after 8: 00 hours local time (8:00 A.M).
- Site visit will be carried on starting from 13, October 2008 and pre-bid meeting will be held    on 20th, October 2008.

- Offers must be delivered to the address given above by November 11, 2008 at or before 12:00 hours local time. Late bids will be rejected.

- Offers will be opened in the presence of bidders/ representatives who choose to attend on November 11, 2008 at 15:00 hours local time (3:00P.M) at the EEPCO club Mexico Square. Addis Ababa.
