1. The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) has allocated a budget in various currencies towards the cost of Customer Contribution and Distribution Extension & Maintenance Programs.

2. The program consists of distribution extension and maintenance works in various parts of the country.

3. The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) now invites sealed bids from all internationally competitive bidders of the world to participate in the bid for the design, manufacture and supply of distribution materials under one or more of the following lots.

• Lot 1- 15 /0.4kV & 33/0.4kV Distribution Transformers
• Lot 2- 0.4 kV Miniature Automatic Circuit Breakers

4. Bidders should submit offers for complete items for each lot.

5. All local agents shall have a valid business license.

6. Bidders shall have prior considerable experience in design and supply of similar size and type of goods as required by the specific tender.

7. The bid document shall be available from May 02, 2006 onwards against payment receipt of Birr 500 (five hundred) for each Lot from the Procurement Division. All bids must be accompanied by bid security as per the bid requirement, and must be delivered to the address below at or before 4:00 p.m. local time (Addis Ababa) on June 15, 2006.

8. Bids will be opened on June 16, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. local time in the presence of Bidders’ representatives who choose to attend the bid opening to be held at Mexico Square, EEPCo club, Addis Ababa.

9. The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation reserves the right to reject any or all bids.

10. Bidders are advised to submit their offer after examining the bid document very carefully.

Aluto Langano Geothermal consultancy Service

The Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation (EEPCo) (herein after referred to as the Corporation) issues this notice of invitation to tender
RHGP 1/97 “Consultancy Services of Aluto Langano Geothermal Pilot Power Plant Rehabilitation Study and Technical Assistance’’
Under this tender, the services of a consulting company are being sought to determine the causes and solutions for the following problems at the Aluto Langano Geothermal Pilot Plant:


• Well output declines, fluctuations, and emission of debris;
• Scaling accumulations noted during operation;
• Poor cooling system performance;
• Leakage of pentane working fluid from the binary segment of part of the power plant;
• Operational difficulties with the plant management and monitoring software and communications facilities;
• Defective gas detection system.


In addition, the consulting company shall be responsible for:


• Preparation of an estimate of the cost of the required repair work for the production wells, steam gathering system and plant;
• Preparation of bid documents for the actual repair work;
• Supervision of the repair work and re-commissioning of the plant;
• Provision of on-the-job training for EEPCO staff and preparation of a long-term training plan;
• Plans for the establishment of an ongoing resource monitoring program;
• Plans for the establishment of a laboratory and instrumentation facility near the site;
• An optional assessment of the feasibility of a planned 30 MW Power expansion of generating capacity at the Aluto Langano site.

To qualify for the tender, Bidders should have enough experience in the rendering the consultancy service for the rehabilitation of geothermal power plant and also have enough experience in supervision of the operation and installation of geothermal power plant. Bidding shall be conducted through international competitive bidding procedures. The Corporation reserves the right to post qualify the Tenderer offering the lowest evaluated tender price.
