ESMF and RPF Documents

As part of National development goal which is in consistent with the millennium development goal whose target is poverty alleviation, the government of Ethiopia has planned to increase the access to electricity from 15% to 50% within the 1998-2002 EFY through universal electricity access program.

The Foreign and local currencies required for implementing the program is huge. The world bank is expected to support part of the project financially. Initially with the finance from the World Bank it is planned to electrify 200 rural towns and about 200 surrounding villages.

One of the conditions to secure the fund is preparation of the environmental and social Management framework (ESMF) and Rehabilitation/Resettlement policy framework (RPF)and disclose for the public and all stakeholders.
