EEPCo’s generating capacity is largely based on hydropower reservoirs, which are significantly affected during periods of extended drought, resulting in potentially large fluctuations in availability of power. Under these conditions water in reservoirs are depleted and system demand can outstrip supply. Considering the increasing power demand and capacity shortfall in the Grid system and to have a better generation mixes, wind energy was found an immediate and clean energy solution as wind power is renewable with short construction period & has significant advantage of quick result.
